The need for industrialization
and potential for industrial growth in the State was realized even
in the pre-independence days as is evidence in Sir M.
Visveswaraiah’s famous words “Industrialise or Perish”. Successive
State Governments have continued a progressive policy of
industrialization. As a result, Karnataka is emerging as the
economic capital of India.
Bangalore, Karnataka’s
beautiful capital city is Asia’s fastest growing city, known as the
Silicon Valley of India. Bangalore houses many reputed institutions
for higher learning, research centres, laboratories and scientific
establishments. Today, the garden city is fast emerging as India's
hi-tech industrial destination.
